Top 4 Ankara Water Parks + Facilities

Water city ankara

If you have been following my articles on the Travelling Topic until now, you know that I will not pass by any entertainment or sightseeing place and I will not leave until I see all the attractive places of a city.

This time, it is the turn of Ankara water parks! Before my trip to Ankara, I did a lot of research about the water parks in this city to know which one was more suitable for me, but unfortunately, I found a lot of wrong information.

Almost all sites wrote that Club Watercity is the best water park in this city, even though it has been completely closed. I found this out when I was looking for the location of this water park in Ankara. Also, Antalya Aqua Park, one of the best water parks in Ankara, has already closed.

So, I decided to travel to this city myself, visit all 4 remaining water parks in Ankara, and write a whole article about them to save you from browsing other sites.

The waterpark Bağlıca Ankara

Before my trip to Ankara, I stayed in Istanbul for some time and visited all the water parks. Bağlıca water park is very small compared to Istanbul water parks.

I paid 350 lira to enter this water park, which is expensive considering the small number of water slides and play equipment.

Bağlıca water park has 5 water slides and 3 pools. Although the whole place is small, it is very clean and neatly designed, so it can be enjoyed to some extent if the crowd is small. However, this water park is usually crowded.

Facilities of Bağlıca Water Park:

  1. Sun bed
  2. Places to rest
  3. Toilet
  4. Cafe and restaurant
  5. Water slides for children
  6. Tunnel slides with colorful lights along with S-shaped slides

PROS:

  1. The complex and water of the pools were clean
  2. The very kind and patient staff is the best feature of this complex
  3. Reasonable cost of food
  4. A large number of lifeguards

CONS:

  1. The lack of proper management of the complex, due to the large number of clients and the over-acceptance of the complex’s capacity, has made them unable to manage the complex properly, and there is disorder everywhere.
  2. Long queues: From the moment the water park opens to the moment it closes, there are very long queues, and you have to stand in line for about 30-50 minutes to ride each slide.
  3. Some facilities were broken down, and many lockers were broken.

This water park was built in the Basilica area and Etimesgut, one of Ankara’s good areas. If I were to rate this water park, I would give it 3 out of 5.

This water park also has a few water slides and pools, but it is larger in area than Bağlıca and more secluded.

I paid 300 lira to enter this water park, which I think is still a bit expensive. The children’s ticket was also 150 lira.

This water park has 4 water slides, 2 of which are speedy and exciting, and the other 2 water slides are slower and more suitable for older people who are not looking for excitement. It also has 3 very large pools that are ideal for this complex.

In addition to these, there are other recreational places in this complex that are very suitable for those who do not like swimming. A football field, tennis court, and rest area are other attractive parts of this water park.

Gölbaşı water park facilities:

  1. Cafe and restaurant
  2. Toilet
  3. Children’s pool
  4. Shower
  5. Very big and clean dressing room

PROS:

  1. Good staff
  2. The structure of the pool is good; one side is deep, and the other is shallow
  3. The water is relatively clean.
  4. There are no long queues at the water slides
  5. They put chairs and umbrellas on the grass that can be used.

CONS:

  1. It is a little far from the city center.
  2. The price of beer is high and is around 100 lira
  3. The number of water slides is small, and one gets bored after a while.
  4. There is no special discount for some people with disabilities.
  5. The opening time of the water slides is a little later than the opening time of the pool.

This water park is 6 km from Haymana Road in Gölbaşı district; the best way to reach it is by taxi and private car. If I were to rate this water park, I would give it 3.5 out of 5.

kartaltepe water park has more slides than the two water parks I introduced above. There are about 7 slides, each of which has different characteristics.

I paid 300 lire to go to this water park, which was not worth it. Sometimes, this water park offers discounts, and its tickets are reduced to 250 liras for adults and 120 liras for children.

In general, it is a very good water park in terms of excitement, but it needs to be cleaner, and there needs to be better management. Also, their ticket sales are much higher than the capacity, and many people are always standing in long queues at the water slide and restaurant.

PROS:

  1. There is a session for women on Tuesdays and Fridays
  2. Has a pool for children
  3. Has high-security lockers
  4. Discounts for a certain group of people
  5. Convenient access to public transportation

CONS:

  1. Very dirty and green water
  2. Very long queues
  3. Expensive food and late preparation of food
  4. Lack of proper management (so that some people were smoking in the bathroom)
  5. Dirty environment of pools
  6. Some water slides are not working, and lack of information before buying tickets
  7. Dirty toilets and showers
  8. Bad behavior of employees

It is easy to access this water park. This center has a special shuttle line, which is the best option to go to this water park. I went to the front of Forum AVM shopping center to board this shuttle. The shuttle leaves from 10.30 to 11 every morning from the front of this shopping center and takes you directly to the water park.

You can also use the same shuttle service on the way back; this shuttle leaves at 17:00. When returning, the final destination of this shuttle is the Keçioren metro station.

If I were to rate this water park, I would give it 2.5 out of 5.

Çiçektep Waterpark and Swimming Pool

This water park is the last in Ankara; unfortunately, it is much worse than the previous three. As a result, Ankara does not even have a good water park; all of them are average and weak, and they are not at all comparable to the water parks of Antalya and Istanbul.

This water park also has 3 water slides, which could be more standard and exciting. I paid 200 lira to go to this water park. The only positive point of this water park was its cafe and restaurant, which was of good quality, and I liked the food there.

PROS:

  1. The solitude of the place
  2. Good ethics of personnel
  3. Low waiting time

CONS:

  1. Dirty water (the presence of flies, dust, bad smell of water, etc.)
  2. High price
  3. Non-standard water slides
  4. The presence of dirt on the pool floor
  5. Bad maintenance of pool water

If I were to rate this water park, I would give it 2 out of 5.

All in all

As you have seen, the condition of Ankara’s water parks could be better, and if you are traveling to this city for water recreation, cancel your trip and go to Antalya or Istanbul. Most of the water parks in this city are located outside the city, and it is not easy to access them using public transportation, and you have to use a taxi to go there.
