Visiting the beaches of Istanbul was one of my favourite things to do during my stay in this city. Every day, I tried to see one of the beaches of this city, but one day, I decided to go to Buyukcekmece Beach.
Buyukcekmece Beach is located in the European part of the city and is far from Taksim Square. There are no subway lines around this beach, so I used a taxi to get there.
Of course, you can take suburban line b1 to get to this beach and get off at Küçükçekmece station. Then take a short walk to Küçükçekmece bus station (E5) and take bus number 76 to Büyükçekmece station. From Büyükçekmece station to the beach is about 10 minutes on foot. Since this beach is public, you can enter it without paying a fee.
My experience visiting Buyukcekmece beach

Buyukcekmece Beach is one of the beaches of the Marmara Sea. When I got there, I stepped on the soft sand of the beach and saw a lot of people on the beach and in the sea.
From the beginning, the dirtiness of the beach hit my taste because the beach side was full of algae, which reduced the beauty of the coast; also, since many people smoke in Turkey, the beach was full of cigarette residue.
The sea is calm there, and people can swim there with their families. When I entered the water, I noticed that the sea water was relatively clean and good for swimming, so I spent most of my time in the sea and played volleyball with the friends I made.
There were many houses around the beach, and for that reason, I saw many natives on this beach, unlike other Turkish beaches.
There is a cycling and running track along the beach where I saw many people walking and cycling. One of the positive points of this beach is that cars are not allowed to enter the beach, which increases the safety and tranquillity of the beach.
There are many trees and greenery around the beach where you can go for a walk when you get tired of being at the beach. Remember that you cannot leave the beach in a Swimsuit and walk on the boardwalk or in the green space.
You can wear whatever you want on this beach. Most of the women were wearing bikinis, and most of the men were wearing shorts.

There are good facilities on the beach and around it, which increased my satisfaction with visiting this beach.

One of the points that attracted my attention was the presence of a bazaar and various shops. You can buy swimming accessories such as shorts or bikinis from there. At the end of the walkway was an antique shop that sold interesting old items.
One of the exciting things you can do on this beach is to rent a boat. There are many different high-speed boats in the dock that you can rent for a while and go to the middle of the sea. Since I didn’t have enough time to stay at the beach, I couldn’t rent a boat, but if you have enough time, definitely rent a boat.
I was quite tired after swimming at the beach and decided to eat. I went to one of the restaurants by the sea, which was located near the stone bridge built by the architect Sinan, and I enjoyed watching the sunset by eating a seafood meal with wine.
Who is this beach suitable for?
This beach can be suitable for everyone. Families can go to this beach and relax there on a hot summer day.
Singles can go to this beach and play volleyball with each other or run and exercise on the walking path.
I, who went to this beach alone, enjoyed being there and I suggest you visit there as well.
Many people visit this beach on Saturdays and Sundays, and if you are looking for peace, it is better to go there in the middle of the week.

I rate this beach 4 out of 5. If it were a little cleaner, it would definitely get 5 points from me. I hope that the Turkish municipality cleans this beach so that people can enjoy it more.
