What to eat in Istanbul airport?

One of the most famous is Burger King fast food, which has three branches in Istanbul’s new airport. Starbucks and Carl’s Jr fast food also have branches in this airport. Of course, remember that the price of food and drinks at Istanbul Airport is relatively high, so this airport’s food price is sometimes 20-40% higher than in the city.

I bought this dish from hd doner in Domestic Airside and it cost about 200 lira in 2023.

Baklava

Turkish baklava is one of the most famous and popular sweets in the world, which you can easily find at the Istanbul airport, and it is often eaten with tea or ice cream. This delicious sweet is prepared with yufka dough, nuts such as pistachios, walnuts, etc., and plenty of syrup. Turkish people are very skilled in making baklava and making its dough.

I bought this sweet from Mvnch along with a cup of coffee and paid about 100 lira for it.

Simit

You can find this bread in all Turkish cities besides Istanbul airport. This traditional bread decorated with sesame is called simit. 

Simit bread in Turkey can be prepared in coffee shops and bought at Istanbul airport. Turkish people usually prepare this bread as a quick breakfast, and sometimes they put Nutella and cream cheese on it. This round and slightly sweet bread can be eaten with tea, cheese, walnuts, and olives for breakfast and dinner.😀

Since I always feel hungry, I bought a Simit for 100 lira to eat on the plane.

Lahmacun

Lahmacun, or Turkish pizza, is a very delicious food made from thin dough with a layer of meat. Minced red meat, onion, and red pepper are the basic ingredients of Lahmacun. This dish is cooked in the oven and has a wonderful taste.

Eating hot Lahmacun with fresh parsley and lemon juice served with local buttermilk or Ayran is enjoyable.
