Prime Minister Adnan Menderes decided to build a bridge over the Bosphorus in 1957. In 1968, he signed a contract with the English company Freeman Fox and Partners to carry out the engineering of this bridge.

The builders of the Bosphorus Bridge were famous engineers such as Sir Gilbert Roberts, William Christopher Brown, and Michael Parsons. The Humber, Severn, and Forth Road bridges are other world-renowned masterpieces of these English engineers. The construction of this structure began in February 1970 and was completed on October 30, 1973, with the employment of 35 engineers and 400 laborers.

There is another way, you can take line 42 to Besiktas station. After that, it’s only a 15-minute walk to Ortakoy.
