Turkey Water Parks

Water parks are an integral part of Turkish cities; you will definitely find a water park in any tourist city in Turkey. I lived in this country for more than 3 months, but I was only able to visit a few water parks in Turkey because there are so many of them. I only had the opportunity to see the best water parks in different cities and make a comprehensive list of them with the help of local people and my own experience.

The water parks that I have listed above are among the best water parks in Türkiye. But in the following, I intend to introduce the best water park in each city.

Marina Aquapark in Istanbul

After some research, I found that there is strong competition between Aqua Club Dolphin and Marina Aquapark in Istanbul. Still, Marina Aquapark is a better choice because it has newer and more exciting water slides, its interior has been designed in a modern way.

The moment I entered this water park, I was overwhelmed by its greatness and beauty. It was at that moment that I realized that giving Marina Aquapark the title of one of the largest water parks in Europe was not without reason!

Since this is an outdoor water park, it is only open during the summer. In 2023, I paid about 600 lira to buy a ticket for this water park. Of course, you should know that I purchased the ticket through the website with a discount, but the price range of the ticket was between 500 and 700 lira. My final expenses in this park were more than 600 lira, and I had other expenses, which I have written below.

I bought ice cream and juice, for which I paid 50 liras; I also ate a hamburger for lunch for 150 liras. I rented a locker to store my phone, watch, wallet, etc., for which I paid 20 lira.

This water park has 17 water slides and more than 15 different sections that can entertain you for a whole day. In addition to its fast water slides, this water park also has a canoe section, which I have yet to see in any other water park in Turkey.

Looping Rocket Tube is my favorite part of this water park. Looping Rocket Tube is 24.5 meters high and, in my opinion, is the most exciting water slide in Türkiye. The speed of this slide was so high that I could not keep my eyes open.

This water park is more challenging than you think and has some advantages and disadvantages, which I will describe below.

Prose:

2. Easy access by public transportation from Taksim Square
3. Has professional lifeguards
4. Has a cafe and restaurant
5. It has various parts, such as a water polo pool, beach volleyball, and tennis court. Swimming pools for children and adults are separated so that children can enjoy more fun with their peers.

Cons:

1. High costs
2. Congestion at some times and long queues to get food and ride the water slide
3. Few servants
4. The long distance between the slides and many stairs

The waterpark Bağlıca Ankara

I have been to all 4 water parks in Ankara, and all 4 of them are very small. Unfortunately, Ankara’s water parks are not in good condition compared to other water parks in Turkish cities such as Istanbul, Antalya, and Izmir.

But the Bağlıca water park has better features than the other 3 water parks. I think the opinion of other tourists is the same because tourists mainly visit this water park.

Bağlıca water park has 5 water slides and 3 pools. For me, who had visited Marina Aquapark before going to Bağlica, this water park seemed very small because Marina Aquapark had more than 17 water slides, and seeing only 5 slides here made me a bit uninterested.

I paid 350 lire to enter this water park, which is expensive, considering the small number of water slides.

The overall atmosphere of this water park is small, but it is much cleaner and neater than its competitors in Ankara, and this is the main reason why I chose this water park. But this feature has always made this park very crowded.

Facilities of Baglika Water Park:

6. Tunnel slides with colorful lights along with S-shaped slides

Prose:

1. Cleanliness of the complex and water of the pools
2. The very kind and patient staff is the best feature of this complex
3. Reasonable cost of food
4. A large number of lifeguards

Cons:

1. The lack of proper management of the complex, due to the large number of clients and the over-acceptance of the complex ‘s capacity, has made them unable to manage the complex properly, and there is disorder everywhere.
2. Long queues: From the moment the water park opens to the moment it closes, there are very long queues, and you have to stand in line for about 30 to 50 minutes to ride each water slide.
3. There was a breakdown of some facilities; many lockers were broken, and the security of clients’ belongings was at risk.

The Land of Legends Theme Park in Antalya

In my opinion, this water park is the best in Antalya. Land of Legends is the first water park that I can’t fault.

Land of Legends is not just a water park but a series of games and activities that will entertain everyone.

This entertainment complex includes a water park, dolphinarium, water slides, roller coaster, restourants, sloping pool with artificial waves, children’s games, shopping center, hotel, etc. I spent a full day visiting all the above sections.

The day I was there, people were dancing and having fun in a part of the park. At first, I thought that this could happen on special days and celebrations, but I found out that every day there is music in this park. It is played, and people interested in dancing can use this part of the park.

This vast complex has more than 30 water slides and different sections, each designed with a specific design, color, and type. The Land of Legends water complex also has a water activities pool, waterfall tower, diving tunnel, tube cruise, jacuzzi, lazy float, ball and wave pool, and children’s pool.

If you are interested in watching the underwater world, I suggest you choose this water park, because you can see the colorful underwater world in addition to various water activities. Several specimens of white whales are kept in the Land of Legends, and you will have the opportunity to see this rare creature by going there.

The most important park rules that you should pay attention to include the following:

1. It is forbidden to take any food inside, even water, and you must buy the things you need from inside the park.
2. It is mandatory to wear a bathing suit and swimsuit.
3. All services, including getting a locker, buying food, etc., are done through the wristband you receive, and you have to top up the wristband to pay the fees.
4. You must hand over the wristband safely when leaving.
5. Parts of the park may be closed due to some repairs, so if you need to use all the games, be sure to contact the reception before buying tickets.

Aqua City in Izmir

There are various water parks around Izmir, but the best water park in the center of Izmir, which has very easy access, is Aqua City water park.

In terms of the size and number of slides, this water park is very rich and has nothing less than Istanbul and Antalya water parks. However, the negative point of this water park compared to other ones in Turkey is its old and dirty parts.

Due to the old age of this water park, I saw some iron and water slides yellowing. Various parts of the park were under repair, and 5 out of 22 pools and slides were closed.

I paid 250 lira to go to this water park in 2023. The price of food was also good, and I could have a good lunch for 80 lira.

Prose:

1. Good access
2. Being big
3. Low price
4. Great variety of water slides
5. Section for children
6. No crowding

Cons:

1. Being dirty and seeing hair and other dirt around the pool
2. Lack of proper management
3. Some slides are closed
