15 Cheap Shopping Malls in Istanbul That Only The Natives Know

Where is the cheapest place to shop in Turkey?

Introducing the best cheap shopping centers in a city like Istanbul, where you can find a market and shopping center on every street, takes a lot of work. After a lot of research, I have chosen the shopping centers I have introduced in this article and tried to introduce you to the best shopping centers.

In the rest of this article from Travelling Topic, you can get information about these shopping centers’ names, addresses, product prices, and working hours.

Opera Onur Bazaar Terkos Pasajı Viaport
StarCity Outlet Hürriyet bazaar Mahmut pasha bazaar Istanbul
Kadikoy Tuesday Bazaar Kadıköy Çilek Street Atlas Passageway
Sinanpaşa Business Center Istanbul Beyoğlu İş Istanbul Arasta bazaar
Laleli market Istanbul Aksaray Istanbul shopping mall Besiktas Bazaar Istanbul

In the following, I will introduce the most crucial shopping centers that are worth visiting.

Opera Onur Bazaar

Opera Onur Bazaar

I had to drive myself to Kadıköy to go to Opera Onur Mall. I used a taxi because I didn’t feel like the crowded subway.

This shopping center is one of the oldest in Istanbul. It is so big that you must spend half a day seeing all its stores.

Due to the mall’s terrible design and not-so-good cleaning, I was exhausted and bored in the first hour, but I had to visit the whole mall to know its prices.

You should not expect this shopping center to be luxurious, but you can buy brand and high-quality clothes at even half the price.

Pay attention to the fact that some of the products in this mall are old, which is why they are cheap. So, you must spend a lot of time finding a new and affordable product.

In this mall, all kinds of evening dresses are sold for 400 to 30,000 liras, so if you are invited to a party and looking for cheap women’s dresses, go to this mall. In addition to clothes, cosmetics, and shoes are also sold in this shopping center. Men’s clothes are also sold in some shops, but their number is less than those selling women’s clothes.

The working hours of this shopping center are from 8 am to 10 pm, but on Sundays, it is open from 12 noon to 7 pm. This mall is very quiet; if you are looking for a quiet place to shop, you must visit it.

Terkos Pasajı

You can find good things in this arcade that are more expensive in other shopping malls, for example, the t-shirts that are 300-400 liras in Istikal Street; I bought them for 100-200 liras in this passage, which had no difference in appearance.

This passage is a combination of fake and original products. Also, some products in this mall have minor defects and are sold at half price, so you should be extremely careful in your purchase.

Different goods such as clothes, bags, shoes, spices, sweets, and food are sold in this passage.

Terkos Pasajı

This passage is located on Istiklal Street, and you can visit it from 9 am to 7 pm. Many people see this shopping center from 11 am to 5 pm, and I advise you to take good care of your belongings during these hours so they are not stolen.

Viaport Asia Outlet Shopping

Viaport Asia Outlet Shopping

This shopping center, which is located in the Asian part of Istanbul, has better conditions in terms of beauty and cleanliness than the two shopping centers that I have introduced above.

The prices in this shopping center are slightly higher than those of the local and small markets of Istanbul but lower than those of the luxury shopping centers of Istanbul, such as Zorlu Center. However, you can also find reasonably priced products with a small search.

The products of this shopping center are entirely original and of high quality. Suppose I want to choose one of the three shopping centers I have introduced. Without a doubt, Viaport Mall is my choice because it has better products.

Viaport Asia Outlet

Various goods such as home decorations, clothes, bags, and shoes are sold in this shopping center, and if you are looking to buy goods at a reasonable price and like to do your shopping in a clean environment, visit this shopping center.

The working hours of this mall are from 10 am to 11 pm, but I suggest you leave before 11 am because at 11 am you can’t find a taxi because of the crowd and you have to walk a bit.

Hürriyet Çarşısı

Hürriyet Çarşısı

This market combines the above three markets, which means the prices are meager and the quality is high. When I saw the entrance door of this market, I was expecting a dirty and poor market, but when I entered, I was surprised because it was clean despite this market’s old texture.

This market, located in the Eminӧnü neighborhood, is one of the busiest markets people in Istanbul buy from. Most of the stores in this market sell groom wedding dresses, which are very suitable for couples. Also, many shops sell children’s clothes that you can buy from them.

If you want to save time, do not come to this market by car because this market does not have a parking lot, and due to the traffic in Eminӧnü, you will be stuck in traffic for at least two hours.

The working hours of this shopping center are from 9 am to 7 pm.

StarCity Outlet

StarCity Outlet

Outlets are among the cheapest shopping centers throughout Istanbul, so if you see the word Outlet at the entrance of any shopping center, know that this shopping center is more affordable than other places.

StarCity Outlet, located near Atatürk Airport, is one of Istanbul’s most popular and cheapest outlets. In this shopping center, many Turkish and international brands sell out-of-fashion products at meager prices. Also, on the last floor, there is a food court and a play area for children.

In this mall, you can easily find clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, home appliances, kitchen appliances, children’s clothes, toys, cinema, and coffee shops.

At the end of each season, the stores of this shopping center offer exceptional discounts. Also, most of the products in this shopping center are original. For example, this mall sells an Adidas shirt at half price.

The brands that you can buy in this shopping center are:

  1. Damt
  2. Karaca
  3. Sbarro
  4. Defecto
  5. Kip
  6. Zanzi
  7. Network
  8. Nike
  9. Icw

Conclusion

As you have seen in this article, there are plenty of cheap shopping centers in Istanbul. But their quality is very different. If you are looking for originals but want to pay less, the best times to shop in Istanbul are Christmas, Black Friday, and the summer festivals.
